TRAINING & FACILITATION

Jim is a teacher by trade, with a Bachelor of Education from Flinders University. Jim majored in the middle years of schooling and physical education, with a minor in allied arts. In 1989, his teaching career took him from Adelaide to the outback towns of Mintabie and Marla, then onto the country towns of Ceduna, Koonibba and Ardrossan, with a stint at Boyne River Natural Science School in Ontario, Canada during a northern hemisphere winter.

Jim taught in Darwin and then Melbourne, where he studied Graduate Certificates in Sustainability and Garden design. He also completed a course in leading and facilitating groups while working as a Landcare Educator at DPI Victoria.

He has extensive facilitation experience, working as a facilitator for CERES Environment Park on the Sustainable Schools program and facilitating the ResourceSmart Schools program for Sustainability Victoria.

He has worked as an education officer for Landcare, Greening Australia, Sustainability Victoria, Melbourne Water and Banyule City Council. Most recently, he has had roles as a Regional Agriculture Landcare Facilitator and Senior Stewardship Officer for the Hills and Fleurieu Landscape board, facilitating events for landholders and farmers in the region.

Jim is available to facilitate community, government or corporate workshops, forums and events. His corporate fee starts at $350 per hour with community fees charged at $100 per hour plus travel costs. Jim is prepared to travel to regional areas to facilitate workshops, forums and events.
